With the exception of visitors from India, Bangladesh and Maldives, all other visitors to Bhutan need a visa. Visa is required for traveling to Bhutan. Thus following are the requirements while applying for the visa.
Valid passport with a minimum of 6 month validity is must and failure to produce shall terminate ur visa application.

For regional clients they need not apply for VISA and neither they are subjected to Royalty nor VISA regulations. Indian, Bangladeshis and Maldivian nationals can obtain a visa at the port of entry on producing a valid passport with a minimum of 6 month validity, 04 nos. recent passport size photo, Children below 5 – requires Birth Certificate, Children between 6 – 17 years – academic school identity card is required. Indian nationals may also use their Voters Identity Card (VIC) while processing their entry permit. Entry permit or the Visa processing cannot be done in advance as physical appearance of the travelers is required at the immigration office. Such document is valid to travel limited places in Bhutan i.e. Paro & Thimphu only. However, government including Tourism Council of Bhutan is looking into ways to make the entry permit online meaning the permit can be obtained in prior to your arrival date through certified tour operator in Bhutan.
